Stainless Steel Wire Rods are hot-rolled, cylindrical steel products defined by their minimum chromium (Cr) content of 10.5% (by weight)—a key alloying element that forms a passive, corrosion-resistant oxide layer (chromium oxide) on the surface, distinguishing them from plain carbon or low-alloy steel rods. Most grades also include nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), or titanium (Ti) to enhance specific properties like ductility, high-temperature resistance, or resistance to pitting corrosion. Typically produced in diameters ranging from 5.5 mm to 25 mm, they serve as raw materials for further processing (e.g., drawing into wires, forming fasteners) across industries.
